by ScottNoble on March 18, 2010

As companies large and small continue to search for ways to be more environmentally conscious and to limit their ecological footprint, Pentair Industrial recently announced the successful testing of the Driflex™ Oil Conditioning System.

The System “removes all free, emulsified and dissolved water from used oil,” according to the company and through two filtration stages and a drying process, oil is restored for reuse. The process removes particulate and moisture from the oil, thus preparing it to be reused.

Smith and Wesson®, the longtime firearms manufacturer, recently utilized the new Driflex™ Oil Conditioning System with positive results. According to Pentair, Smith and Wesson®, after using the new system, now saves more than $48,000 a year by improving the quality of its recycled oil.

In addition to removing dissolved water from used oil, some of the other benefits of the Driflex™ Oil Conditioning System include:

  • Easy installation and small footprint
  • No thermal degradation risk
  • Minimal operating costs and low ownership cost
  • Long service life
  • No moving parts

Jamin Arvig, president of Commercial Water Distributing, LLC, of Zumbrota, Minnesota, said: “This is a remarkable improvement on a process that before was costly and often didn’t yield the best results. We’re excited to let our consumers know that as a master distributor for Pentair Industrial, we now carry the Driflex™ Oil Conditioning System as well as many other great products from Pentair.”
