Ever get out of the shower and still feel as if you are not completely clean? Like 10 minutes of showering and shampooing didn’t quite get all the gunk off?
Well, a new U.S. study might give you conformation for that “not completely clean” feeling. The study, published in Reuters, found that “many shower heads are dirty and may be covering you in a daily dose of bacteria that could make you sick.”
Approximately 30 percent of the 50 shower heads from nine U.S. cities that were included in the study contained high levels of Mycobacterium avium, “a group of bacteria that can cause lung infections when inhaled or swallowed.” The study found that the levels of this group of bacteria were 100 times higher than what is typically found in household water.
If you’re spending any time in the shower, especially if you allow the water to cascade over your head and face, you no doubt want to ensure that your shower head is protecting you from harmful bacteria—and not serving as a safe harbor for these bacteria.
WaterFilters.NET has a wide selection of shower filters that can effectively reduce the bacteria that daily cascades down your face. The variety of brand names, types and costs will ensure that you get exactly what you need for your specific situation.
Jeremy Nelson, marketing manager for WaterFilters.NET, said, “With something we use so often—like the shower—it’s essential that harmful bacteria not seep into the water via our shower heads. With the variety of shower head filters we offer, we’re sure that consumers will find exactly what they need—something that keeps them safe and healthy.”
